| Juniors |
We have a very active Junior section with
teams competing at club, Merseyside County and North West Regional
Academy standard.
There is an active coaching programme every Saturday from 10am to
4pm.
Last year also saw the launch of the Nick Taylor Academy at the
club.
We welcome Juniors of all standards and purposefully keep the cost
of junior membership at the club low at £21.00 to encourage
youngsters to play this great sport. The Saturday coaching session
is open to both members and non-members at a cost of £3.00 per
session (member) and £4.00 (non-member).
The coaching sessions are overseen
by fully qualified England Squash registered coaches helped by
volunteers. Information about stroke production/routines is posted online so that
juniors/parents can practice the routines themselves at other times.
The club has an active mini squash section for juniors aged 6 to 11.

| Merseyside junior league |
We have several teams in the Merseyside Junior
Leagues. Selection for teams is based on merit.
Children are encouraged to challenge for a place in the teams through
regular match play at coaching sessions. |

| Eye Goggles |
| Eye goggles are strongly recommended to junior
players. HSRC and all its coaches cannot be held responsible for any
injury to any junior sustained while playing squash or utilising the
facilities of HSRC. Goggles can be purchased from the club at a
discounted price though many good offers can also be found on the web. |

| School Links |
|
 |
| HSRC is keen to promote links with schools
and encourage youngsters to play squash. We do this through our
membership of the Merseyside
Squash Rackets Association and our links to the Wirral Squash
Development group which, in particular promotes mini-squash in
schools. Any school - Primary or Secondary- is more than welcome to
contact the club with a view to developing further links. In 2006-07
the club participated in the PE School Sports & Club Links
(PESSCL) scheme run in conjunction with the Education Authority. A
number of schools such as Gayton Primary (shown below) participated
in a Squash Festival held at the club. |
